If you do any type of freelance or contract work, this millennial just made your life a whole lot easier!

As a football star turned tech guru, Blake Stanton is the visionary behind the Quiktract app, designed to give his peers a safe space while they’re sitting among corporate tables. The enterprise venture app was created specifically with entrepreneurs in mind as it allows freelancers the opportunity to connect, create amenable contracts, and secure payments all in one place.

Since 2019, the app has combined the ease of a marketplace with the lead, contract, and payment tools that entrepreneurs need to easily manage their work. It offers a layer of protection for both freelancers and service providers as they work together on various projects.

From Sports To Technology

“Tech was never at the forefront of my brain,” Stanton said. “I never thought I’d be in the tech industry coming from being an athlete my whole life because that’s all I ever knew. After graduating from the University of Oregon, I was always trying to network and be in different rooms.”

During the millennial entrepreneur’s tenure at the university, he tried various different clubs and organizations to pinpoint what it was that he’d do upon graduation.

“After graduating, I jumped straight into the industry as far as the business side of sports, representing athletes as far as contracts and marketing,” he continued. “I was always fascinated with the business of sports so I did that and from there I knew it was more in life that I was destined to do.”

In the midst of connecting to others, Stanton was granted the opportunity to jump into the tech world, and ever since then, he has been on a mission to make resources more accessible to those who need them most.

Breaking Barriers

After soon realizing how outdated the legal tech space was for people, specifically young, Black men, Stanton took matters into his own hands to come up with innovation in a predominately white industry.

“I was like, ‘man, there’s something here that needs to be shaking things up. Something we can do in the sector that can change the scope of the underserved community,’” Blake Stanton expressed. “And from that idea alone, we built Quiktract and it’s been growing ever since.”

Using Quicktract

For Stanton, talking about money has always been a hard conversation, that is, until Quiktract came about.

“When it comes to money, it’s always a hard conversation,” Stanton explained. “Even when it’s in discussion with a friend, no one ever really wants to have that conversation about money. So, we wanted to use Quiktract to resolve that.”

Serving as an accountability tool, Quiktract is a place where people can find themselves being more transparent and open when it comes to contracts and everything in between the line of freelancing and entrepreneurial work.
