Many people dream to learn life gems from Jay-Z. Recently, 21 Savage shared that he had the opportunity of a one-on-one with the businessman himself.

21 Savage On What He Learned

In a discussion on Math Hoffa’s “My Expert Opinion,” the rapper spoke about the time he visited Jay-Z’s home, according to HipHopDX. During their conversation, 21 Savage let viewers into what the OG advised him in regards to investments.

“He was telling me about art, too. I started investing in art and shit. I don’t even think [NFTs] was around back then. This was like 2018, 2019,” he said, according to the outlet.

Being ahead of the game in the metaverse, Jay-Z has made multiple moves since.

As previously reported by AfroTech, he invested in NFT (non-fungible token) marketplace Bitski for its $19 million in its Series A funding round in May 2021. Additionally, Jay-Z reportedly filed a trademark for 2/J — speculated to be a new production company that will focus specifically on NFTs and other new-type productions.

Jay-Z's Essentials In Life

Among the advice that 21 Savage took notes on, Jay-Z told him which essential things his money should go toward.

“He just told me his top three things that he spent his money on,” he said. “We ain’t really have no financial conversation. He just was like, ‘Chef’; I went and got a chef. ‘A doctor’; I went and got a doctor. And he said a lawyer; I already had a lawyer at the time.”

A Leader In Financial Advice

Bow Wow is a fellow rapper that has shown gratitude for Jay-Z’s financial guidance. As previously shared by AfroTech, he credited the mogul and his “4:44” album for providing him with an improved financial mindset.

“We gotta start teaching the youth early about credit and how important it is,” he wrote in the story, per HotNewHipHop. “It’s cool to have cash, but with good credit … man the world is yours! Nothing like looking at all 3 scores and you a 730 or better!!!! Learn the importance of having good credit! Trust me.”
